As I was perusing through my notes from 2018 to spark new neural connections, I came across this visual from Andy Cotgreave‘s webinar.

It is an excellent depiction of how good design makes it convenient to do the right thing.
This complements the decision modeling approach, I recently learned about. James Taylor has done a wonderful job detailing it in his posts.
So, when gathering requirements for data solutions focus on 2 things:
1. Identifying what the right thing to do is — Decision modeling
2. Making it easy to do the right thing — Design thinking
Decision modeling combined with design thinking leads to highly successful data solutions.
